Spring Breakout Game: The Prologue to the Future

The countdown has begun to the Cubs’ Spring Breakout game, an exhilarating preview of the Cubs' future talent. As we gear up to watch prospects like Cade Horton, Ed Howard, Kevin Alcantara, Owen Caissie, and Brennen Davis, remember this is more than a game—it's a glimpse into the 2027 season. Catch all the action live this Friday at 4:05 CT on Marquee and ESPN+ and witness the beginning of something special.

The inaugural Spring Breakout will feature seven-inning games for the prospects. Each team will be comprised of an organization's top 20-25 prospects from all levels of Minor League Baseball, with these players now performing in Major League Spring Training at an earlier point in their careers.

And let’s not forget Adbert Alzolay and Carl Edwards Jr., who are handing out zeroes like they're the day's special at a diner.
For the full scoop on this strategy, Maddie Lee’s got the goods in the Sun Times. It’s a must-read for a deep dive into the Cubs' crafty pitching tactics.
